SPINDLETOP PLANT
Our flagship project, the Spindletop Project, is strategically located in Beaumont, TX. The first train of drop-in high-octane renewable gasoline with a negative carbon intensity operational Q4 2026.
Arbor, a renewable fuels platform, uses proven processing methods to convert forestry residual woody biomass into green syngas, a flexible feedstock which can be converted into renewable gasoline, green methanol, sustainable aviation fuel ("SAF"), or green hydrogen.
Arbor Renewable Gas is one of the world’s leading developers of industrial scale renewable gasoline, green methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable hydrogen facilities, supplying low carbon fuels to facilitate a clean energy economy. These negative carbon fuels offset traditional hydrocarbon-based fuels thereby lowering the CO2 emissions of the vehicle fleet. By using woody biomass as our feedstock, we can not only make renewable gasoline, green methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, and green hydrogen, but we also eliminate the greenhouse gas emissions that are associated with the natural breakdown of wood fibers in the environment. Arbor’s process also provides a market and use for woody biomass, thereby eliminating the fuel for forest fires.
Renewable or “green” gasoline is the ultimate transition fuel as the global vehicle fleet moves toward electrification. Arbor is currently the only company committed to the production of green gasoline from woody biomass for markets that value a low-carbon fuel that is a direct “drop-in” replacement of conventional fossil-based gasoline. Our green gasoline is identical in use and function as traditional gasoline. No modifications or “blend-wall” exists for the use of Arbor green gasoline. It can readily be used to fuel the existing fleet of internal combustion engines today, at a fraction of the environmental impact of a hydrocarbon fuel.
By utilizing qualifying woody biomass feedstock and state-of-the-art carbon dioxide sequestration technologies, Arbor’s green gasoline produces a significant negative carbon intensity score. This translates to for every gallon driven with our fuel, 33 pounds of carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere.
Hydrogen is at the core of all transportation fuels and a primary component in the production of many downstream chemicals. Today, “grey” hydrogen is primarily produced from natural gas and coal, resulting in significant carbon dioxide emissions. Arbor’s renewable hydrogen process produces 100% renewable or “green” hydrogen from qualifying woody biomass feedstock, which vastly reduces the carbon intensity of the end products.
Arbor uses proven technologies that have been used around the world, but in a unique way that provides for the world’s first renewable gasoline, green methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, and green hydrogen production at industrial scale. Our feedstock is qualifying woody biomass approved by the EPA, CARB, and the EU—we convert tree residue from managed forests into a cellulosic renewable gasoline, green methanol, sustainable aviation fuel, or green hydrogen that meets the specifications of the EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard, California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard, and the EU's Renewable Energy Directive (REDII). Proven technologies from the Gas Technology Institute and Haldor-Topsoe combine to provide for Arbor’s unique process.
The Gas Technology Institute or GTI, is a globally recognized technology provider that specializes in technologies for the natural gas industry. GTI has developed numerous technologies that allow for conversion of solid fuels, such as waste wood, to useful end products such as methanol, hydrogen and gasoline.
Arbor has an exclusive license for the gasification of woody biomass to renewable gasoline and hydrogen.
Haldor-Topsoe is one of the leading technology providers for the process industry. H-T’s TiGas technology is a proven method to produce “drop-in” gasoline from a variety of feedstocks. With a large, operational plant in the Middle East and numerous other natural gas-based plants under development, H-T technology is well proven and ready for deployment.
Arbor has licensed H-T’s Tigas process in our current gulf coast projects.
